Heartland Film Festival opens Oct. 16

More than 100 filmmakers will gather in Indianapolis beginning Oct. 16 as the annual Heartland Film Festival opens.

More than 130 movies will be screened over the 10-day festival. Something new this year is that the festival has been designated as an Academy Award qualifying venue for the Oscar’s short films category.
