Filmmaker Michael Bay is not a director known for subtlety.
In a career that includes the “Transformers” franchise, two “Bad Boys” features, “Pearl Harbor,” “The Rock” and “Armageddon,” Bay has created larger-than-life and loud popcorn movies that have brought droves of moviegoers into multiplexes.
His latest film, “Ambulance,” starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Yahya Abdul Mateen II and Eiza González, is no exception.
