The following titles are being released on Tuesday, Oct. 3, unless otherwise noted:
Super Troopers 3 (Blu-ray + digital)
Details: 2026, Buena Vista-Disney
Rated: R, sexual content,, nudity, language, drug content
The lowdown: The Super Troopers try to balance fighting crime and breaking up a relationship between Farva and Thorny’s sister in the third outing of this series.
The comedy will more likely appeal to fans of the series than the average movie collector. The jokes are mostly decent, as is the ethnic humor that permeates throughout.
The movie divided critics — it garnered a 50 percent rating at Rottem Tomatoes — with some describing it as an unfunny sequel, while others enjoyed the film’s crass vibe and offhand style of filming.
Technical aspects: 1080p high definition, 1.85:1 widescreen picture; English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio and 2.0 Dolby digital descriptive audio track; English SDH, French and Spanish subtitles.
Don’t miss: Extras include a compilation of the funniest outtakes, a tour of the set and deleted scenes.

Maverick: The Complete Series (Blu-ray)
Release date: Oct. 27
Details: 1957-62, Warner Archive Collection-Allied Vaughn
Rated: Not rated
The lowdown: During the late 1950s and into the early ‘60s, Westerns covered television screens like herds of cattle grazing on the prairie.
Warner Bros. was the studio that churned out many of these series — “Cheyenne,” “Sugarfoot,” “Colt .45” and, of course, “Maverick.”
The latter was different from many of the other TV Westerns. It was lighter with comedy, double-dealing shenanigans as well as action. Brett Maverick (James Garner) and his brother, Bart (Jack Kelly), would rather play with a deck of cards or woo a young lady than have to deal with gunfighters and outlaws.
In the fourth season, Roger Moore joined the cast as Brett and Bart’s cousin Beau.
The series was not above spoofing other TV Westerns such as “Gunsmoke” and “Bonanza.”
This 32-disc set, available at www.moviezyng.com, features all 125 episodes of this delightful series.
Technical aspects: 1080p high definition, 1.33:1 with side mattes (16:9 enhanced) full-screen picture; English 2.0 DTS-HD Master Audio monaural; English SDH subtitles.
Don’t miss: Five of the episodes are shown with vintage commercials as seen during their initial ABC broadcast.

A Bucket of Blood / Dementia 13: Special Edition (Blu-ray)
Release date: Oct. 27
Details: 1959, 1963, Film Masters-Allied Vaughn
Rated: Not rated
The lowdown: Two low-budget features from filmmaker Roger Corman are spotlighted in this Blu-ray release.
“A Bucket of Blood,” produced and directed by Corman, is a dark comedy-horror hybrid, which stars Dick Miller as meek busboy Walter Paisley who, wanting to impress Carla (Barboura Morris), decides to make a bust of her.
But when his fumbling results in the death of his landlady’s cat, Walter panics and hides its body under a layer of plaster.
Of course, Carla and her friends praise the work, Walter decides creating bigger and more elaborate pieces through the same gruesome method.
The satiric look at beatnik-style demeanor and dialogue help make the movie a cult favorite.
“Dementia 13” is best remembered as the directorial debut of a young Francis Ford Coppola. Corman served as producer on this gothic and bloody feature about family secrets, psychological horror and axe killings.
The cast includes William Campbell, Luana Anders and Patrick Magee.
The Blu-ray can be found at www.moviezyng.com or other online retailers.
Technical aspects: 1080p high definition, 1.85:1 widescreen and 1:33:1 full-screen picture (“A Bucket of Blood”) and 1.85:1 widescreen picture (“Dementia 13”); English DTS-HD Master Audio; English closed-captioned.
Don’t miss: Bonus features include a commentary by Tom Weaver on “A Bucket of Blood,” episodes of “Trailers from Hell” featuring “A Bucket of Blood” and “Dementia 13,” 2026 trailers for both movies using restored footage, a commentary by Heath Holland on “Dementia 13,” and “Jack Hill on FilmGroup,” a featurette from Ballyhoo Motion Pictures.

Mr. Skeffington (Blu-ray)
Release date: Oct. 27
Details: 1944, Warner Archive Collection-Allied Vaughn
Rated: Not rated
The lowdown: Bette Davis stars in this drama as Fanny Skeffington, the prettiest woman in New York. Fanny always has used her beauty to manipulate men — and her way through life.
She has encouraged dozens of suitors, even after her marriage Job Skeffington (Claude Rains), an older man whom she wed to save her brother, Trippy (Richard Waring), from an embezzlement charge.
The movie, which scans the years prior to World War I and into WWII, is another flashy showcase for Davis and her mannerisms, while Rains restrained and sympathetic performance steals the movie.
The cast also includes Walter Abel, George Coulouris, Marjorie Riordan, Jerome Cowan, Robert Shayne and John Alexander.
The Blu-ray can be purchased at www.moviezyng.com or other online sellers.
Technical aspects: 1080p high definition, 1.37:1 (wide side mattes) (16:9 enhanced) full-screen picture; English 2.0 DTS-HD Master Audio monaural; English SDH subtitles.
Don’t miss: Extras include a commentary by director Vincent Sherman, a featurette about the movie, a “Lux Radio Theater” radio adaptation from 1945 starring Davis and Paul Henreid and a Warner Bros. cartoon, “Duck Soup to Nuts.”

The Hill (Blu-ray)
Details: 1965, Warner Archive Collection-Allied Vaughn
Rated: Not rated
The lowdown: By the time he starred in “The Hill,” Sean Connery already was showing he was more than the suave and sexy 007-licened to kill James Bond.
In 1964, he had co-starred with Tippi Hedren in Alfred Hitchcock’s “Marnie” as well as “Woman of Straw” with Gina Lollobrigida and Ralph Richardson.
“The Hill,” a World War II drama, was sandwiched between “Goldfinger” and “Thunderball.”
Set during World War II, “The Hill” is set in a British military prison. Connery’s Joe Roberts is one of the prisoners. Most of the inmates are soldiers who defied orders, talked back or rebelled. The wardens are brutes and sadists who enact cruelty in the name of discipline.
The Sidney Lumet-directed feature offers an oppressive atmosphere that offers a thought-provoking of the misuse of power and authority.
The cast also includes Harry Andrews, Ian Bannen, Ossie Davis, Roy Kinnear, Ian Hendry, Alfred Lynch and Michael Redgrave.
The Blu-ray can be purchased at www.moviezyng.com or other online sellers.
Technical aspects: 1080p high definition, 1.85:1 (16:9 enhanced) widescreen picture; English 2.0 DTS-HD Master Audio monaural; English SDH subtitles.
Don’t miss: Supplemental options include a commentary by Lee Pfeiffer, editor-in-chief of “Cinema Retro” magazine and film historians Paul Scrabo and Tony Latino; a vintage making of featurette; and “The Year of the Mouse,” a Tom and Jerry cartoon.
